Final Cut Pro Tip #032 – Cheat the System

Lets say that you have several sequences that all need to be rendered in FCP. And lets face it, generally rendering is not something that you want to wait around for. Well cheat the system and render a great number of sequences all at once.

In the FCP user peferences menu (option q) there is an auto render setting. Simply change the start render after to 1 minute and walk away. Be aware that you also have a few more options here. You can choose to render all open sequences, just the current sequence, or open sequences except for the current. There is also a check box to render RT segments of the sequences. After a minute of inactivity FCP will start to render out all the open sequences. One more word of advice is to save before you walk away, just in case.
