Final Cut Pro Tip #012 – Button Bars

A later, but welcomed addition to FCP, is the ability to add button bars on the browser, timeline viewer, and canvas windows. These are great shortcut buttons that you can customize and save.

You can access the button bars menu and button list via the tools menu in FCP. With the button bars menu you can load and save different sets of button lists. The button list allows you to customize your button bars with any FCP command. You can also save an load button bars by right clicking (or control clicking) next to the button bar. The button bar information is saved in the Final Cut Pro User Data folder (same place as your preferences).

Below is an image with my favorite buttons from the timeline window.
